Princess Diana’s lover, Dodi Fayed, was a regular at the notorious Studio 54 in the early 80s where he was known as fan of ‘good quality coke and hot women’ according to a memoir by the club’s owner, Mark Fleischman.

In his book Inside Studio 54, Fleischmann spills the details on several celebrities who frequented the club including Liza Minnelli, Jack Lemmon, Robin Wiliams, John Belushi, and Nick Nolte.

Fayed was a member of what Fleishman called the ‘Dawn Patrol’ – a group of celebrities who would take copious amounts of party drugs, engage in anonymous sex in the club, and would scour the town in limousines for illegal parties open in New York at 5am.
‘Dodi, son of Egyptian billionaire Mohamed Al Fayed, who owned Harrods of London at the time, always had the most amazing coke,’ the memoir reveals.

He recalls one New Years Eve in particular where he was celebrating with Dodi on a private jet.
‘I lost track of what day it was, forgot about my plans for later and partied through the night in a suite at the Plaza Hotel with Dodi.
‘I know it was a hell of a party but I remember nothing – only the consequence I suffered – losing a truly incredible woman who I had been crazy about.’
Dodi was in the car with Princess Diana when it crashed and killed them both in Paris, 1997.

He eventually sold the club and checked into rehab before opening a health resort in California,.
Fleischman says of his time owning the club that ‘I was swept into a world of celebrities, drugs, power and sex.’
