Aussie farmers have been going through a rough time this year but there’s good news for some of our favourites out there.
We’ve caught up with some of the happy couples from the hit show, Farmer Wants a Wife, which helped isolated farmers find love. Not only are they still living happily ever after with their chosen lady but there have been lots of little farm hands arriving over the last few years too!
Season 4 (2009) Brad Crane & Stacie Marmion
Lithgow cattle farmer Brad is still pretty stoked he met his wife Stacie on the show he only went on for a laugh. The pair are still farming in Gunnedah and are now running a 1200 acres property.
After getting married in 2010 the pair have had three little girls, Darcie 5, Bobbie 3, and one-year old Frankie.
“Between farming, business and three kids we are well and truly exhausted!!” Stacie tells New Idea. “We are currently in intense drought so it’s been a very hard year.”
But the pair have each other and that keeps them smiling.
Season 7 (2011) – Frank Atherton & Tenille Jolly
Two years after the show Frank proposed to a thrilled Tenille on his Hughenden property on Valentines day. Fast forward five years and the pair are still farming there and have added three-year old Oliver to their crew.
Season 8 (2012) – Sam Alford & Jodie Byrne
It was a fairytale ending for Aussie cattle musterer Sam Alford when he married Jodie in 2015.
He had proposed months after the show ended.
“I had no idea, I think until he started talking about me being his wife one day,” Sam remembers of the proposal. “And I was like ‘are you proposing’ and he was like ‘maybe I am’ and then he pulled out the ring and it was real.”
14 months ago the love birds also became parents to baby River.
“The transition to motherhood was tough for me, Jodie tells New Idea. ‘But I am absolutely loving it now.”
