Just weeks after their joint decision to exit the show, The Block’s Jesse Maguire and Paige Beechey have decided to call off their wedding.
The engaged Perth-based couple have reportedly sent their wedding guests a formal letter informing them that their wedding, originally planned for the end of the year, has been postponed.
“Dear friends and family, life, in its unpredictable course, has presented us with unforeseen circumstances that has led us to postpone our upcoming wedding on 12 December,” the message read, according to Yahoo Lifestyle.
“While we were eagerly looking forward to celebrating our love and commitment with you all, we believe it is essential to acknowledge when a moment is not right. This year, it is not.
“We extend our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience and disappointment this news may bring. A new date for our celebration is unknown at this time, but we will keep you abreast of any rescheduling.”
Meanwhile, some couldn’t help but laugh at the notice. It bore a letterhead featuring Jesse and Paige’s initials, as well as “EST. 17” – the year they started dating.
“It’s very Lady Whistledown,” said one fan, referencing Bridgerton’s infamous society paper.
New Idea has long suspected that something might be amiss, given our requests to Paige about covering the big day went unanswered.
“Everyone thought this might happen. And it’s understandable, given the flak they’ve copped since The Block started airing,” says one source.
Jesse Maguire and Paige Beechey took the title of the youngest couple on this season of The Block, and despite being novices when it came to renovating experience, they were more than determined to take on the challenge.

Where did The Block’s Jesse and Paige meet?
Jesse and Paige met seven years ago at a rugby grand final. Jesse LOVES all sports, but especially rugby – it was while Jesse was celebrating the win of his rugby grand final that he met Paige, who was out with a friend at the time.
“I chased her down the street and I said, ‘Can I please have your number? I really want to take you out,” Jesse told Domain earlier this year. “The rest is history.”
Prior to their season of The Block airing, Jesse described his fiance as “the most hard-working and motivating person I know,” and added that she pushed him “to be a better person.”
“Jesse has so many beautiful strengths,” Paige said at the time, returning the compliment. “He is so gentle and loving and kind.”
Why did Jesse and Paige leave The Block?
While rumours began swirling prior to the first episode even airing that Jesse and Paige would sensationally quit the show, it wasn’t until the beginning of week five that they officially departed Phillip Island due to mental health concerns and the high-pressure environment.

Despite postponing their wedding, the two are seemingly still together and love to post each other on their Instagram pages.
Jesse celebrated his 30th birthday in June and Paige shared a sweet message on social media. “Loved doing your 20s with you. Happy 30th to the best man I know,” she wrote at the time.
Shortly after the first episode dropped on Aussie screens, the couple jetted off to Europe for a luxurious vacation where they shared the above happy holiday snaps.
