Speculation is rife that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to announce their engagement next week – with royal experts touting Tuesday as the most likely day.
According to the Mail Online, Tuesday is the same day of the week that Harry’s brother, Prince William, and his father, Prince Charles, chose to share their engagement news with the world.
The news follows reports of a secret staff briefing at Buckingham Palace on Friday.
The Daily Star states that the Queen is believed to have been at the meeting where palace staff were briefed on the couple’s plans including a wedding that will not follow typical royal convention.
“They are engaged but they are trying to sort a few things out now, like house hunting for a retreat and other things,’ a source told the publication.
“It will be up to them to decide when to announce it as they want to do it their own way, which Her Majesty agrees with.”
Kensington Palace has so far refused to comment on the matter.
Meghan, 36 and Harry, 33 are believed to have met at The Invictus Games in 2016 and made their first public appearance together at this year’s ceremony in September.
In the two months that have passed since then, there has been growing evidence to suggest an engagement is imminent – with the Suits actress quitting her job on the hit show, packing up her apartment in Toronto and bringing her beloved dogs, Bogart and Guy to London, where she is now believed to be living.

A representative from the Royal Family has released a cryptic statement on Harry and Meghan’s rumoured engagement, announcing that the Royals “would not give a running commentary on Harry’s love life”
