Lady Louise, who was taking part in a dressage event with one of the Queen’s ponies, wore a black helmet, smart beige overcoat and matching gloves. Felix, who was dressed in grey chinos and a blue jacket, was seen arriving at the event with her mum Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, 59, who was dressed casually in khaki skinny jeans, a khaki coat and a light blue jumper, The pair watched Lady Louise perform in the dressage, then Felix accompanied his girlfriend on a walk around the carriage driving course. It is the first time she has taken part in the event at the former home of her grandfather, the late Prince Philip who encouraged her to take up the sport. The Sandringham trials were started in 1982 by Prince Philip, who wanted to bring one of his favourite sports to one of his favourite places and it always takes place over the weekend after Royal Ascot. Lady Louise, who is the eldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, inherited her passion for carriage driving from Prince Philip and made her eventing debut at three years ago. News of Louise’s romance comes after it was reported that she might shun becoming a full-time working royal in favour of a more quiet life.
