In news set to shock MKR, New Idea can reveal Sonya and Hadil hadn’t seen each other for more than six years before starting on the show – and they had never even cooked together!
‘Our mums are really good friends but Hadil is closer to my younger sister,’ Sonya says.
‘I hadn’t actually seen her for six years before we started on the show. ‘She grew up in
Sydney but then she moved.’
While the ladies went on to take out the highest Instant Restaurant score this season, before the show, they had never actually cooked together.
‘I knew Sonya was into cooking,’ Hadil says.
‘We’d swap notes when we were younger. So, there was always that shared interest between us.’
