A man is dead and dozens of children have been left deeply traumatised, after a circus lion taming show went horribly awry.
Video of the incident, in Alexandria, Egypt, is now going viral – showing the fun family day out ending in horror. Lion tamer Islam Shaheen is seen being savaged by a large male lion, which grabs him by the neck – with the stunned audience’s initial silence replaced by the heartbreaking sound of children screaming in terror.
Trainer Islam Shaheen, 35, lost his life despite being immediately rushed to hospital. A circus spokesperson has reportedly stated the animal had been behaving erratically as it entered breeding condition.
