In an exciting development, the new MasterChef Judges have been announced.
Earlier this year, former judges George Calombaris, Matt Preston and Gary Mehigan announced they were leaving the tv series:
The new judges are:
Melissa Leong, who is the editor of Foodarati.com and has appeared on many tv programs as a food blogger.
Andy Allen, MasterChef 2012 Winner and chef and co-owner of Three Blue Ducks.
Jock Zonfrillo, founder of the restaurants Orana and Blackwood and the Orana Foundation.
The MasterChef Australia Twitter account made the announcement today.
“We’re thrilled to reveal your new #MasterChefAU judges: Jock @Zonfrillo Melissa Leong (@fooderati) and @andyallencooks!” they stated, and shared the below photo of the new judges.
Former judges Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris will not be returning to MasterChef Australia because they could not agree to a new contract.
The Sydney Morning Herald claims that the trio – each on salaries in excess of $1 million – walked after 10 refused to up their pay by more than 40 per cent.
