53kg competitive eater reveals secret to staying slim

Err... wow

A slim 53 kilo blond model, Nela Zisser seems about the most unlikely person EVER to be a competitive eater but the 26-year old takes the sport very seriously, travelling around the world to compete.

The Kiwi also has her own Youtube channel with videos of her scoffing anything from burgers to breakfasts in record time regularly going viral.

Her latest challenge sees her eating an enormous 5650 calories tower of food including chicken sausage, burgers, eggs, five-cheese macaroni, bacon and pineapple all smothered in mayo and honey mustard with a side of fries and a chocolate shake.

The record, she says is 15 minutes and 2 seconds and after a vomit-inducing 11 minutes and 35 seconds she smashes that by over three minutes.

“I’m super stoked with that time considering that was a massive burger and fries and a thick shake,” she says jubilantly.

Talking to New Idea she says she felt fine afterwards.

“I normally feel a little bloated but nothing too bad. I normally won’t eat again that day unless it was a smaller challenge.”

Given that she completes challenges like this every few weeks but doesn’t put on any weight Nela must have a secret!

“I do intermittent fasting so I normally eat two larger meals a day after 5pm,” she tells New Idea.

“I feel like this gives me a lot more energy and I’m able to get more done throughout the day. I’m a full time medical student and I run my own restaurant so I’m pretty busy.”
