The Block season 20 may not have started airing, but already Channel Nine is busy making plans for season 21 of the beloved renovation reality show.
Speaking with TV Tonight, Executive Producer Julian Cress confirmed that after lots of “wrangling back and forth” The Block would be filmed in Daylesford in 2025.
“We’re going to do the show that we wanted to do [in 2023] and we’re really excited about [it] because, we think off the back of this kind of ‘seachange’ series that we’re doing in Phillip Island, Daylesford is just country town. It’s the number one weekend destination in Australia.”
“I think it’s a town that will resonate with a lot of viewers and as a backdrop for The Block, it’s absolutely stunning and the community there is wonderful,” he added.
The news comes two months after a development application lodged with Hepburn Shire Council and the Victorian Minister for Planning Sonya Kilkenny by Group Architects and Julian Brenchley was made public.
In the application, it was apparent that producers were keen to subdivide the existing block of land at 1 Raglan Street, Daylesford into “five carbon-neutral, architecturally designed residential dwellings.”
According to the architectural plans, each renovated residence will feature matching floorplans with “5 bedrooms, study, living, covered garage, and quality outdoor areas, including heated swimming pool [and] extensive landscaping.”
The address is located directly across the road from a Mitre 10 store, and is only 90 minutes north west of Melbourne.
