After 11 days of intense competition, the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games have officially concluded.
With a total of 158 Australian para-athletes competing across 17 sports between the 28th of August and the 8th of September, there were lots of chances for Team Australia to take home gold, silver, and bronze medals – and boy did they not disappoint!

Gold medal
Thomas Gallagher took home Australia’s first gold of the games in the men’s S10 50m freestyle final.

Lakeisha Patterson
Silver medal
Lakeisha was also among Australia’s first medallists of the games, narrowly missing out on gold in the S9 400m freestyle to Hungary in the final lap and claiming silver.

Brenden Hall
Bronze medal
Competing in the men’s S9 400m freestyle at the La Defense Arena, Brenden Hall is taking home bronze after an impressive performance in the pool.

Rowan Crothers
Bronze medal
Competing against teammate Thomas Gallagher in the S10 50m freestyle final, Rowan Crothers will be adding to Australia’s growing medal tally and coming home with a bronze.

Korey Boddington
Gold medal
The 28-year-old took home a gold medal in cycling for the Men’s C4-5 1000m time trial. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, he ate nothing but homemade burritos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner all year to fuel his body for the event.

Emily Petricola
Gold medal
In another gold medal for cycling, Emily Petricola took home gold in the women’s C4 3,000m individual pursuit, defending the title the claimed in Tokyo. During the qualifiers, she set a new world record time of 3:35.856.

Jessica Gallagher
Silver medal
Jessica Gallagher, assisted by Caitlyn Ward, has taken home silver in the women’s B 1000m time trial in Paris. The vision-impaired cyclist just missed out on gold to British cyclist Elizabeth Jordan.

Amanda Reid
Gold medal
Amanda Reid has taken home gold in the women’s para-cycling C1-3 500m time trial. The 28-year-old from the Blue Mountains successfully defended her title at the Tokyo Games in 2020.

Li Na Lei and Qian Yang
Gold medal
Table tennis legends Li Na Lei and Qian Yang have taken home gold for Australia in the women’s doubles WD20 event. Both have represented China prior to Rio 2016 and have numerous Paralympic medals between them.

Michael Roeger
Silver medal
In the Para Athletics, Michael Roeger has taken home a silver medal for Team Australia in the men’s T46 1500m final. He missed out on gold to defending champion Aleksandr Iaremchuk.

Madison de Rozario
Bronze medal
For another Para Athletics medal, Madison de Rozario has won bronze in the women’s 5,000m T54 event. Gold was taken by Switzerland’s Catherine Debrunner while silver was won by the USA’s Susannah Scaroni.

Jack Ireland
Bronze medal
To continue our impressive run in the pool, Jack Ireland has added to Team Australia’s medal tally with a bronze. The 25-year-old set an Oceania record time of 1:53.77 during the men’s 200m freestyle S14.

Nikki Ayers and Jed Altschwager
Gold medal
In the para-rowing, Nikki Ayers and Jed Altschwager have taken home gold in the PR3 mixed double event. It is Australia’s first-ever gold medal in Paralympic rowing, and the Australian team holds the world record for the event.

Rowan Crothers
Silver medal
In his second medal for the games, Rowan Crothers has secured a silver medal in the men’s 100m freestyle S10 para swimming event. He just missed out on gold to Italian Stefano Raimondi.

Ahmed Kelly
Silver medal
Shortly following a disqualification which was then overturned, 32-year-old Ahmed Kelly claimed silver in the men’s 150m individual medley SM3. While he led for much of the final he lost the gold to German Josia Tim Alexander Topf.

Ben Hance, Jack Ireland, Madeleine McTernan, and Ruby Storm
Silver medal
Team Australia has taken home silver in the mixed 4x100m freestyle S14 with Ben Hance, Jack Ireland, Madeleine McTernan, and Ruby Storm. Ben Hance swam the final leg of the race.

Erik Horrie
Bronze medal
Continuing our para-rowing success, Erik Horrie has taken home bronze in the PR1 men’s single sculls. While Horrie originally finished fourth, he was awarded bronze after Italian Giacomo Perini was disqualified.

Mali Lovell
Bronze medal
20-year-old Sydneysider Madi Lovell has secured bronze in the para-athletics women’s 200m T36. Mali finished with a time of 29.92, just beating Argentina’s Araceli Rotela who clocked a time of 29.89.

Gordon Allan, Korey Boddington and Alistair Donohoe
Bronze medal
In more success for our para cyclists, we have secured bronze in the open C1-5 750m team sprint. The cycling trio of Gordon Allan, Korey Boddington, and Alistair Donohoe have claimed what is the fifth medal for Aussies in the velodrome.

Thomas Gallagher
Bronze medal
Another medal for Thomas Gallagher! The Paralympian has secured bronze in the men’s 100m freestyle S10, adding to his gold medal from Day 1 of the games.

Grant Patterson
Bronze medal
Grant “Scooter” Patterson has claimed bronze in the men’s 150m individual medley SM3. The 35-year-old para swimmer from Cairns made his Paralympic debut in London 2012.

Dayna Crees
Bronze medal
Securing another athletics medal for Team Australia, Dayna Crees will be coming home with a bronze medal for the women’s javelin F34. Making her Paralympic debut, the Victorian launched the javelin 17.65m.

Lauren Parker
Gold medal
In what’s being called a “redemption win”, Lauren Parker has secured a gold medal in the women’s PTWC triathlon. She narrowly missed gold in Tokyo to USA’s Kendall Gretsch, who beat her by one second.

Gold medal
Team Australia has secured gold and set a Paralympic record in the swimming mixed 4x100m Medley Relay. Paris is the first games to hold this event.

Silver medal
It was a close final in the pool for the men’s 100m Breaststroke SB14, but Jake Michel secured silver with a time of 1:04.27. He finished just behind Canada’s Nicholas Bennett and ahead of Naohide Yamaguchi from Japan.

Jamieson Leeson
Silver medal
Jamieson Leeson has become the first female Paralympian to win a medal for boccia, securing silver in the women’s Individual BC3.
The 21-year-old from the NSW town of Dunedoo will also be competing in the doubles later in the games.

Daniel Michel
Silver medal
In another win during Boccia, Daniel Michel has taken silver in the men’s Individual BC3.
The 29-year-old from Sydney’s Cronulla had previously won Bronze in Tokyo and will also compete alongside teammate Leeson in the doubles.

Bronze medal
Australian wheelchair rugby team The Steelers have defeated Great Britain 50-48 to take home bronze. It was a tight match which saw them fighting for a medal after their disappointing semi-final loss to Japan.

Bronze medal
Another medal win on the athletics field for Team Australia with Michal Burian taking bronze in the men’s Javelin Throw F64.

James Turner
Gold medal
Adding to our gold medal tally, James Turner placed first in the men’s 400m T36 on the para-athletics field. It’s his third Paralympics and he had to overcome a bout of glandular fever to win.

Rachael Watson
Bronze medal
In more success for our Aussie para swimmers, Rachael Watson will be going home with a bronze medal for her efforts in the women’s 100m freestyle S3.
She missed out on the top spots to Leanne Smith from the USA and Marta Fernandez Infante from Spain.

Alex Saffy
Bronze medal
Another medal for our para-swimming team! Alex Saffy has secured a bronze for the men’s 100m butterfly S10.
The 18-year-old from WA broke down in tears after his win, admitting to Nine the journey to his Paralympics was a “big sacrifice” but he is happy it paid off.

Qian Yang
Gold medal
In another gold medal for Qian Yang, she beat Poland in the women’s singles WS10 para table tennis. The Paralympic champion secured her victory safely, winning three straight sets.

Alexa Leary has won the women’s 100m freestyle S9 and has also broken a world record during the event. The 23-year-old had broken the world record with a time of 59.60 only that morning, but then she beat her own time in the final with the new record of 59.53.

Alistair Donohoe
Silver medal
At the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Velodrome, Alistair Donohoe will be taking home silver in the men’s C5 individual time trial.
The Aussie para cyclist has previously won bronze and silver in the Tokyo and Rio games and put in an impressive performance in Paris.

Meg Lemon
Silver medal
In another silver for the para-cycling team, Meg Lemon has secured one for the women’s C4 individual time trial. She finished the course, which is 14.2km, in 21 minutes and 44.16 seconds, just five seconds behind the USA which took gold.

Lauren Parker
Silver medal
One more silver medal for our para cyclists! Lauren will be taking home silver for para-cycling in the women’s H1-3 individual time trial.
She will add this silver medal to her gold, which she won for the women’s PTWC triathlon. She is Australia’s first dual-sport Paralympic medallist in 44 years.

Alana Forster
Bronze medal
Continuing our success in the para-cycling, Alana Forster will be going home with bronze for the women’s C5 individual time trial.
The Ballarat local finished with a time of 21:00.48, just behind Great Britain’s Sarah Storey who took out the gold.

One more cycling medal for day seven at the Paralympics…
Darren Hicks has secured bronze for Team Australia in the men’s C2 individual time trial. Darren already holds a gold medal and finished with a time of 19:40.08.

More success in the pool for our para swimmers! Ricky Betar has won a bronze medal for the men’s 200m individual medley SM14.
While Ricky was bested by Great Britain and Canada for silver and Gold, he did set an Oceania record for his time of 2:08.69.

Another medal for Grant “Scooter” Patterson who is taking home a bronze medal for the men’s 50m breaststroke SB2. Scooter also won bronze earlier in the games for the men’s 150m individual medley SM3.

Gold medal
Another gold for Lauren Parker! Following up on her win in the PTWC triathlon, Lauren has taken the gold for the women’s H1-4 road race in para-cycling.
This is Lauren’s third medal for the games, having won silver in the women’s H1-3 individual time trial.

Gold medal
Timothy Hodge has won his first Paralympic gold medal in the men’s 200m individual medley SM9.
Timothy is the reigning world champion and set a Paralympic record time of 2.13:31 during the race.

Gold medal
In the para-athletics, Vanessa Low has won gold in the women’s long jump T63.
The defending champion broke her own world record by more than 10cm, jumping 5.45m.

Samuel Von Einem
Bronze medal
Samuel Von Einem claimed bronze in para table tennis men’s singles MS11 in a fierce semi-final against Korea Republic’s Kim Gi Tae.
The world number one also holds silver medals from the Tokyo and Rio Games.

Gold medal
In the pool, Ben Hance has won gold for the men’s 100m backstroke S14.
The swimmer broke the world record earlier in the day during the heats and is also a previous gold medal winner.

And in another win in the pool, Callum Simpson has won a gold in the men’s 100m freestyle S8.
At only 17, Callum won with a time of 58.23, while Noah Jaffe from the US closed in right behind him for silver with a time of 58.25.

In the men’s 100m butterfly S9, Tim Hodge has taken out the silver. He swam alongside fellow Aussie Lewis Bishop who took out bronze.
The gold was won by Italian swimmer Simone Barlaam.

Bronze medal
Swimming alongside fellow Australian Tim Hodge, Lewis Bishop has come third and will be going home with a bronze medal for the men’s 100m butterfly S9.
While the para swimmer was last at the turn, he powered forward in the last 50 metres to come third.

Bronze medal
This is the third medal for Thomas Gallagher for Paris, who will now be going home with two bronze medals and a gold.
Thomas won this latest bronze medal for the para-swimming men’s 100m backstroke S10.

In what is her first individual Paralympic medal, Emily Beecroft has claimed bronze in the women’s 100m butterfly S9.
Gold went to Christie Raleigh-Crossley from the US and silver went to Zsofia Konkoly from Hungary.

Bronze medal
Rachael Watson has won her second bronze in Paris! She took home the medal in the para-swimming women’s 50m freestyle S4 event.
While Rachael came fourth during the event, Brazil’s Lidia Vieira da Cruz was disqualified for a false start.

In the para canoe, Curtis McGrath has won gold in the men’s kayak single 200m KL2.
This is the third straight Paralympics win for the 26-year-old Paralympian.

In the para-athletics, James Turner won gold for the men’s 100m T36. This is James’ second gold for Paris who finished with a time of 11.85 seconds.

More success for our para swimmers. In the men’s 200m individual medley SM10, Col Pearse took out the silver medal.
The Italian world champion Stefano Raimondi took home gold for the race.

Silver medal
Dylan Littlehales has taken out silver for the men’s kayak single 200m KL3. This is Dylan’s first Paralympic medal.
Gold went to Algeria’s Brahim Guendouz while bronze was taken out by Miqueias Elias Rodrigues from Brazil.

Rowan Crothers, Alexa Leary, Chloe Osborn, and Callum Simpson
Silver medal
Despite breaking a previous world record time they set, Australia placed second behind Italy in the para-swimming mixed 4x100m freestyle relay with 34 Points.
The team set a new Oceania record during the race.

Bronze medal
In the para-athletics, Rheed McCracken has secured bronze in the men’s 800m T34. He has three medals in the 100m from the past three games.

Bronze medal
In the para table tennis women’s singles WS9, Li Na Lei took out the bronze in the semifinal against China’s Guiyan Xiong.
Li Na has a previous gold medal from Tokyo and is also the world number one.

Bronze medal
In the men’s para table tennis, Lin Ma has taken out bronze in the singles MS9. He lost 3-2 in the semifinals to France’s Lucas Didier.

Bronze medal
Susan Seipal has won bronze for the para canoe women’s va’a single 200m VL2. This is the 38-year-old’s third game and she also has a silver medal from the same event in Tokyo.

Bronze medal
In one more medal for our para-athletes, Reece Langdon has secured a bronze in the men’s 1,500m T38 final.
Tunisia’s Amen Allah Tissaoui won gold while Canada’s Nate Reich will be going home with silver.

Silver medal
Opening Ceremony flagbearer Madison de Roazio secured Australia’s final medal (a silver) on the last day of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games in the T54 Marathon – her eighth Paralympic medal.
