Every year on My Kitchen Rules (MKR), scores of talented teams think they have what it takes to win the life-changing $100,000 in prize money and kickstart their culinary careers.
With Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel scoring the dishes contestants plate up, itโs a high-pressure, high-reward environment designed to root out the very best cooking talent Australia has to offer.
But alas, not every team is destined to win, with the bottom-scoring meals seeing their makers sent home.
Scroll on to see all the teams that have been eliminated on MKR so far this yearโฆ

Mike and Pete
WA
The friends were sent home from Kitchen HQ just short of the grand finale, after receiving mixed reviews for their three course meal in the semi-final.
While the duo poured their heart and soul into their Salmon Tartare with Balsamic Pearls and Crostini entree, Crumbed Scotch Fillet with Mashed Potato and Pickled Cabbage main, and Ruby Chocolate Tart with Strawberry Ice Cream dessert โ ultimately it wasnโt enough.
โWeโve enjoyed almost every moment. Itโs been a wild, wild ride!โ an emotional Pete lamented after finding out their time competing had come to an end.
โItโs back to reality. Iโm really proud of you, Pete,โ Mike added.

Janey and Maddie
VIC
After going head-to-head with mother-son duo Caz and Fergus in the semi-final, this mother-daughter team fell just short of a spot in the grand finale.
While both Colin and Manu praised the women for their technical menu, which consisted of Kingfish Ceviche for their entree, Beef Wellington for their main, and Raspberry Souffle with Raspberry Sauce for their dessert, Caz and Fergusโ dishes were overall better.
As they hung up their aprons for the final time, Janey said that it was โa bit painfulโ to be eliminated, but that โnothing else has mattered more than spending time with Maddieโ โ how sweet!

Rob & Liam
VIC
Despite their strong start to the competition and high scores during the first two Instant Restaurants, it was a dramatic fall from grace for the brothers who in round three scored a heartbreaking 57 out of 100.
While initially hopeful that another team would score lower than them and thus save them from elimination, it quickly became clear that their badly executed menu had sealed their fate.
โWeโve proven through this competition weโre great cooks. We had one really bad day. We left the door wide open for everyone to beat us. Itโs been a great experience doing it with my brother. Love you, bro,โ Liam said as he and Rob left the competition.

Hannah & Lawrence
WA
Loved-up couple Hannah and Lawrence were eliminated from the competition following a tense cook-off in MKRโs Kitchen HQ.
Their Honey and Ginger cake scores the lowest of the teams, with a total of 19 out of 30. โHonestly, we gave it everything we could. We worked our butts off to get to where we are now. Iโm just proud of how far we came,โ Hannah said.
โThe only thing that I know for certain is Iโm going to marry this girl,โ Lawrence said.

Robert & Andrea
NSW
Married Germans Robert and Andrea were unfortunately eliminated from the competition following their Instant Restaurant scored just 46 points.
Their menu was described as the โriskiest menu ever seen on MKRโ and Colin even said the Leberknodel Suppe was โa polarising dish.โ
โBut I love that youโve taken your heritage to us, thatโs what MKR is about.โ However, the dish lost out as both Colin and Manu agreed the dish was too salty.

Ash & Cassie
SA
Unfortunately for these young mums, Duck Pancakes, Crispy Pork Belly with Green Papaya Salad, and Coconut Kaffir Lime Panna Cotta with Lime Syrup and Ginger Crumb failed to impress the judges after the first round of Instant Restaurants.
While the entrรฉe and dessert were passable, their pork was โunseasoned, unloved and undercooked,โ โ harsh feedback!
Scoring 60 out of a total of 110 points, it came as no surprise that they finished second last on the leaderboard and were sent packing in a surprise double elimination.

Danny & Sonia
QLD
This brother and sister duo had high hopes for their Townsville Mud Crab with Mango Chilli Dip, Filet Mignon with Garlic Prawn Toppers, Beer Battered Wedges and Bacon Broccoli Salad, and Espresso Martini Trifle.
Despite being praised for their entrรฉe, the Queenslanders were criticised for their main and dessert, with Manu going as far as to describe the Filet Mignon from the main as โa piece of wet cardboard.โ
Ultimately, they were awarded a mere 56 out of a total possible 110 and were sent home in last place on the leaderboard.
