She’s been pilloried for her outrageous meltdowns throughout this season of The Block but flight attendant Sara Vale, alongside husband Hayden, 45, told WHO her side of the story.
“We had some pretty negative feedback from a couple of the judges,” the mum-of- one says. “There’s a difference between negative feedback, constructive criticism and pure insult—and they were purely just insulting us.”
The devoted mum told the Today show that her breakdowns on the reality renovation show have been a result of being away from her little girl, Harlow, 2, for an extended period of time.
“She’s our only daughter and we’ve never spent that much time apart,” the 31-year-old said. “I felt like I was neglecting her at one of the most pivotal moments of her life.”
But the couple say they only went on the show to try to benefit their daughter.
“We live in Sydney and it’s so hard,” Sara says, “unless you’re mortgaged to the eyeballs, there’s no way we would have been able to afford a decent future for her. So ultimately we went in to this knowing we were going to try our best for her.”
That couple already have one precious child, and Hayden reveals he told producers that going on the show was “now or never for us because we’ll probably have another baby again in the near future.”
