He’s only nine but one of the contestants on The Great Australian Spelling Bee has won praise for his kindness.
Alistair battled his way through to the top 18 on last night’s premiere of the show but it’s his sportsmanship to a fellow competitor which has made him the viewer’s favourite.
Alistair knocked fellow competitor Max B out of the competition but called out to him to “keep in contact” as he walked off stage.
‘Great job Max, keep in contact,’ he called after the boy after he failed to spell his word correctly.
Fans quickly took to social media to praise his decency. ‘I wanna be Alistair when I grow up,’ said one.
