Hearts broke around the nation when Michelle and Jason revealed they were the only couple to have split following Seven Year Switch.
A tearful Michelle opened up about the break up on a reunion special which aired this week.
However, something which was not discussed on the controversial Channel Seven show was the mum of two’s post natal depression.
When New Idea spoke with Michelle – who is mum to four-year-old son, Elijah, and one-year-old daughter Indiana – at the beginning of the experiment she opened up about her mental health battles.
‘I was unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with postnatal depression with both of my children,’ she told New Idea.
‘It took me a long time to get help for it – I just thought I was a pretty terrible mother. Other people made it look easy, but I wasn’t finding it easy.
Speaking candidly, Michelle revealed she lost intimacy with husband Jason before Seven Year Switch.
‘After having children, life changes – and I found it hard to take my mum hat off and put my Michelle hat on and become who I used to be.
‘I felt if I never had sex ever again, it would have been too soon!’ she adds, with a laugh.
