Actor and rapper, Tyrese Gibson is currently being investigated by the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services following claims that he has abused his 10-year-old daughter in the past.
According to TMZ, his former wife Norma Gibson has revealed in a court battle that the 38-year-old allegedly hit his daughter so hard she was unable to sit down comfortably.
The rapper’s ex is seeking full physical and legal custody, as her daughter’s father is based in Dubai, where he has business ties. The news site also reports that Norma has requested that Tyrese takes domestic violence courses following the alleged incidents.
She claims Tyrese ‘beat’ his daughter between 12 and 16 times. The Fate Of The Furious star confessed to striking his daughter her once on her bottom. On Tuesday, October 3, Norma’s attorney confirmed the DCFS is investigating Tyrese.
The Department of Child Services often launch an investigation as a precautionary measure.
Tyrese claims that Norma is just bitter that he has since moved on and remarried, therefore she has allegedly created false allegations out of revenge.
Tyrese’s lawyer, Terry Levich Ross, also made an official statement to TMZ. ‘She’s a lying piece of s***. Tyrese is devastated. He’s a good guy and I will prove that.’
The former couple was married for two years between 2007–2009. The rapper remarried earlier this year to wife Samantha-Lee Gibson.
